Icaria
Based out of Atlanta Ga, progressive metal band, Icaria, formed in the spring of 2015, and they’re currently gearing up for the release of their debut album Transcendent. Which is due out via Cardigan Records on June 9th, 2017.
Icaria formed when guitarist, Ricky Free (Broadcast the Nightmare/Sumerian Records). and singer, Marc Harris, decided to pursue a heavy music project that had long been in the talks between the two. With Marc's previous band disbanding, the opportunity had presented itself for the two of them to officially team up. The rest of the lineup would come together from both Marc and Ricky's previous bands bringing in Josh Davis on Bass (Broadcast the Nightmare/Sumerian Records), John Patton on guitar, and Ben Harris on Drums.
September of 2015, the band stepped into the studio to record with renowned recording engineer and producer, Jamie King (Between The Buried & Me, Advent, Alesana). Working at The Basement Studios in Winston-Salem, NC with Jamie, Marc and Ricky teaming up on the production as a powerful producing tri-fecta, the end result is a dynamic, exciting, and heavy album, spectacularly executed.
With the album completed, they began shopping it around to labels before finding a home on Cardigan Records after catching the eye of To Speak Of Wolves.
With the hard work and dedication these guys live by and believe in as the reason for their early success, this band should definitely be on everyone's radar if they already aren't.
